Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Number 8 Cemetery for John R. Barrow, age 71, who died at his home in the Oak Ridge vicinity Friday after an illness caused from cancer. Services were conducted by Rev. Ezra Hamilton of Jackson, Tenn.
Mr. Barrow was born July 8, 1867 in Henderson County, Tenn., at the time of his death he was 71 years, 11 months and 30 days old. He came to Missouri September 6, 1933 and has filled his place as a good citizen and made friends with everyone he knew. He did not belong to any church but believed in the teachings of the Primitive Baptist Church and since childhood has lived a moral life, and his death is deeply mourned by his loved ones and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ader Barrow; five children, Joe Barrow of Lexington, Tenn., Mrs. Beulah Hamilton of Lilbourn, Mo., Alonzo Barrow of Cooter, Mrs. Allie Holland of Caruthersville and Miss Dollie Barrow at home; also he leaves one brother, Bural Barrow of Milan, Tenn., and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lawrence of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Mrs. Parelle Campbell of Trenton, Tenn., besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock at the Steele Baptist Church Sunday for Mrs. Frances A. Barrow, who died at her home in Steele. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.W. Cunningham and interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Mrs. Barrow, who was 65 years of age, came here seven years ago with her husbnad, the late John R. Barrow, who died two years ago. She was born and reared at Lexington, Tenn.
Survivors are five children, Miss Dollie Barrow with whom she lived at the time of her death; Mrs. Ollie Howard of Painton, Mo., Mrs. Beulah Hamilton of Morley, Mo., Alonzo Barrow of Burdett, Ark. and Joe Barrow of Lexington, Tenn.; two brothers, Louis Tipps of Blytheville and Joe Tipps of Bogota, Tenn.; also a sister, Mrs. Mary Long, of Miston, Tenn.

Francis Ada Barrow, daughter of Zachariah and Sally Tipps, was born in Hardin County, Tenn., November 11, 1877, and departed this life at her home in Steele, February 27, 1942.
She was married to John R. Barrow on September 14, 1897. To this union were born six children. Five of whom survive her, namely, Joe Barrow of Lexington, Tenn., Mrs. Beulah Hamilton of Morley, Mo., Alonzo Barrow of Burdette, Ark., Mrs. Ollie Howard of Painton, Mo. and Miss Dollie Barrow of Steele.
The husband preceeded her in death in 1939.
The family moved from Lexington, Henderson County, Tenn., in 1933 and have been citizens of Oak Ridge and Steele since that time.
Mrs. Barrow joined the Missionary Baptist Church when she was 15 years of age, and was a faithful member of that church until 1929 when she united with the Primitive Baptist, and served loyally until death.
She leaves to mourn her passing five children, twelve grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two brothers, Louis Tipps of Blytheville, and Joe Tipps of Bogota, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Long of Miston, Tenn., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her hobby was her home and family. She was a good neighbor, a loving wife, a faithful friend and a true American mother. She never complained of her sacrifices, nor grumbled at hardships. She loved her work and was ever happy. Her last words were that she was going to sleep in Christ, and please not try to wake her.
Funeral services were held at the Steele Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Ezra Hamilton. Burial was made in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
