Mrs. Minnie Larue Barnes died April 10 at the home of her daughter in Marion, Ala. She was born August 19, 1894 in Tennessee.
Mrs. Barnes leaves two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Caldwell of Marion, Ala., and Mrs. Mabel Green of Detroit, Mich.; one son, W.J. Barnes, Jr., of Steele; one sister, Mrs. Earl Morgan of Caruthersville; and ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12 at 2:30 in the Church of Christ in Steele with Mr. Franklin Williams officiating.
Burial was in No. 8 Cemetery with German-Aumon Funeral Home in Steele in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were J.L. Whitfield, David Whitfield, D.W. Whitfield, Chester Barnes, Paul Fullerton and Gordon Southern.

Willie M. Barnes, Sr. retired farmer of Steele Route 1, died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti October 4, 1966.
He was born in Madison County, Tenn., July 3, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Barnes.
Mr. Barnes was a member of the Church of Christ. He had lived all his life in this community.
Funeral services were held October 6 at the Church of Christ in Steele, Bro. Marvin Rainey of Corinth, Miss., officiating.
Burial was in No. 8 cemetery near Cooter, German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pall beaarers were Gordon Southern, Paul Cooper, Sandy Johns, David Whitfield, Harvey Stegall and J.L. Whitfield.
Mr. Barnes leaves his wife, Mrs. Minnie Barnes of the home; a son W.M. Barnes, Jr., of near Steele, two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Caldwell of near Steele and Mrs. Mabel Green of Detroit; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Barnes and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Flood both of this community and a sister, Mrs. Eva P. Walls of Florida.
