Thomas C. Thomas, 78, of Memphis, formerly of Cooter, died Nov. 22, 1987 John Gaston Medical Center in Memphis. Born Oct. 31, 1909 in Alamo, Tenn., he was the son of Brandon and Iona Cox Thomas. He was a retired freight handler, a veteran and a Baptist. He was a member of the Teamsters.
He is survived by two sons, Norman Thomas of Niles, Mich., and Robert Thomas of Sikeston; Three daughters, Mrs. Sue Gentilini of Bruna, NJ., Mrs. Cordelia Akins of Steele and Mrs. Patricia Mirrill of Ocean City, NJ.; Two brothers, Marshall Thomas of Cooter and David Thomas of St. Louis; His stepmother, Mrs. Lillie Burrett of Doniphan; Twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. at German-Aumon Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. Matthew Corkran officiating, with burial in Number Eight Cemetery.
