Mrs. Ruby Inez Workhoven, 73, of Steele, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Born Feb. 7, 1912 in Arkansas, she was the daughter of Robert and Birdie Louise Slayton. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by two sons, Norman Lewis Thomas of Niles, Mich.; and Robert David Thomas of Steele; Three daughters, Mrs. Velta Sue Gentiniti and Mrs. Patricia Lynn Merril, both of Pleasantville, N.J. and Mrs. Delie Akins of Steele.
And one sister, Mrs. Tressie Woods of Doniphan; Eleven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at German-Aumon Funeral Home chapel the Rev. David Hart officiating, with burial in Number Eight Cemetery near Cooter.
Pallbearers were Patrick, Chad, Gary and Merlon Bishop Sr., Eldridge Gray and Gene Reams.
