Clarence Rodrick Payne was born on August 24, 1935 in Hillsboro, Texas.

He was the son of Charlie & Bennie (Ward) Payne.

Clarence proudly served during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he worked as an auto mechanic and truck driver making both local and coast-to-coast deliveries.

On September 26, 1990, Clarence married his loving wife Kay in Miami, Oklahoma. The two of them enjoyed making crafts and traveled to craft shows selling their artistry. Clarence and Kay also worked together as managers of the Branson City Campground.

Clarence entered into rest on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in the Mt. Vernon Veterans Home at the age of 82.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kay Payne; brothers, Charles and Billy Payne; one sister, Nell Smith and three nephews.

He is survived by his daughters, Clara Teague of Ozark and Susan Hulstra of Rogersville; two sisters, Jo Ann Finlay of Mission, KS and Dorothy Armstrong of Harrisonville; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
