Dorothy Lorraine Stapp, 98 of Cabool, MO went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019. She was born on May 11, 1921 to Edward Carl and Esther (Leitzow) Flood in Stevens Point, WI.
Dorothy graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point in 1943; from 1943 to 1945 she proudly served her nation during WWII in the Navy as a W.A.V.E. She was united in marriage to Clarence M. Stapp on June 21, 1947 and they were married for 44 years; to this union five children were born.
Dorothy received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at 12 years of age at the First Baptist Church in Stevens Point and she loved and served Him faithfully until her death. She was a loyal and active member of the Cabool Christian Church for over 50 years; she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Women’s Council. She also volunteered at the Red Cross, Kabul Nursing Home and Meals-on-wheels. She loved spending time with her family and playing bridge with her friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carole Flood; three brothers, Kenneth, Ray and Lloyd Flood and a granddaughter, Jennifer Rader. She is survived by three daughters, Karin (Roger) Rader, Donna (Paul) Ames and Patti (Steve) Mitchem all of Springfield, MO; two sons, Steve Stapp and Gail Martin and Ted (Cathy) Stapp of Cabool, MO; seven grandchildren, Lori Ames, Andy Ames, Caleb Rust, Chad Rader, Josh Rust, Shannon Harman and Erica Rosenbaum; two step granddaughters, Tara Glassgold and Mindy Wiseman; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. [egcfunralhome.com]
