Mr. Pippin was dead on arrival Friday at St. John's Regional Health Center after a long illness. A native of eastern Christian County, Mr. Pippin operated a general store and was an electrician in the Pippinville community northwest of Sparta. He had lived in Springfield since 1973 and was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Hazel; two sons, Dewey Dewayne and Johnny Dwight, both of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Alvenia Moore, Battle Creek, Mich. and Juanita Smith, Rogersville; a half-brother, Kirby Maggard, Huntsville, Ark.; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
