Carrie Elizabeth Gilmore , 77, Sparta, went to be with the Lord at 2:53 a.m. Oct 18, 1996, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

Mrs Gilmore was born April 6, 1919, in Douglas County, Mo to Jim and Hattie Williams. She was married to John Henry Gilmore Dec. 15, 1937, and to this union two daughters were born. Mrs. Gilmore was employed for 19 years at Hagle"s Industries, She loved to sing at church and revivals. She will be remembered as a loving Christian sister, wife, mother and grandmother,

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Gilmore, a step-daughter, Beulah Kirby, a son-in-law Ray Kirby, four sisters, Agnes Hacker, Dorothy Creason, Mary Mytilda Williams and Ivybelle Williams, two brothers, Bill and Oren Williams, two grandsons Phillip Kerby and John Carnes and one great -grandaughter, LeEtta Neal.

She is survived by two daughters and a step-daughter and their husbands, Amy and Howard Kerby, Salt Lake City, Utah, Ivonne and Jim Carnes, Rogersville, and Geneva and Mike Jackson, Sparta, two sisters, Betty Kirby, Springfield, and Eulah Perkins state of Oregon, 10 grandchildren , 22 great-grandchildren , 7 great-great grandchildren , as well as a host of family and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. , Oct 22,1996 in Harris, a Heritage Funeral Home , Ozark, with the Rev. Ben Dewitt. officiating , Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery.


John H. Gilmore, 78, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday in his home on Route 1, Rogersville, after a three-month illness. The native of Taney County had lived on the same Rogersville farm for 50 years. He was a member of the Chadwick Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his wife, Carrie; four daughters, Mrs. Beulah Kirby, Billings, Mrs. Amy Lois Kerby, Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Ivon Carnes, Springfield and Mrs. Genevia Jackson, Sparta; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Harris Chapel in Ozark with the Revs. Dale Roy and Charley Shipman officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery.
