Wife of John Anderson Dillard
Beverly Joyce "B.J." Dillard passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at her home in Port St. Joe, Florida. She was born December 1, 1940, in Christian County, the daughter of Glenn and Hazel (Allen) Lawson. She was a MSU graduate and received a master's degree in counseling. B.J. taught English at Logan Rogersville School for several years. She worked for the guidance program, Talent Search, through Drury University, serving in rural area schools. She was an accomplished artist, musician and seamstress. B.J. enjoyed singing and playing the guitar as well as other instruments and was a member of the Gulf Art Alliance. Survivors include her husband, John; her mother, Hazel Lawson, Sparta; eight children, Kirk of Springfield, Jim of Springfield, Kathie of Kansas City, Diane of Largo, Florida, Bill of Nixa, Jay of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Kris of Bolivar and Gina of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie Lawson, Rogersville; other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 20, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice or Fair Haven Children's Home.
