Mr. Fred Williams died at 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 1988 at the Ozarks Medical Center of West Plains, Missouri. Mr. Williams was born in 1903 in Nowata, Oklahoma which at that time was just a territory. He was born to James Madison and Minnie Emmazet (Besse) Williams. Soon after his birth, the family moved to West Plains, Missouri. In about 1918, due to his mother's health, the family moved back to Oklahoma settling first at Mervine, and later at Denoya.
Mr. Williams had worked in the oil fields Oklahoma. Later he returned to West Plains, where up until his retirement had worked for the Missouri State Highway Department.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 11, 1988 in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home at West Plains, with the Rev. Gerald Bruner officiating. Burial was in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
Son of James M. & Minnie Emmazet (Besse) Williams. Husband of Minnie Eletha (Dawson) Williams. Father of Harold Williams, Peggy (Williams) Jarvis and Jackie Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and four children; one stillborn son; Leon Williams and two daughters; Betty (Williams) Gilbert and Minnie Maree Williams.
Minnie married Fred Beverly Williams in Oklahoma about 1924. To this union there are 7 known children.
At her passing she was survived by children; Harold Williams, Peggy (Williams) Jarvis and Jackie Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred (1903-1988) and four children; one infant child, son; Leon Williams and daughters; Betty (Williams) Gilbert and Minnie Maree Williams.
