Mrs. Hicks passed away at 7:25 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Willow Care Nursing Home.
She was born February 3, 1929, at West Plains, Missouri, to Noah Moody and Irene Crider Moody. On February 6, 1947, she was married at West Plains, Missouri to Cecil Hicks, who preceded her in death. She was a hard worker, often doing a man's job, especially after the passing of her husband. She loved her dogs, cats and working the farm. She enjoyed her time working at the truck stop and seeing all the drivers pass thru, until she retired. Her and Cecil enjoyed going square dancing in their spare time. She hauled cattle into her seventies and enjoyed going to some of the sale barns. She didn't over complicate life, she kept things simple.
She is survived by two children; Janice Howe-Beckman and husband, Ray of Linwood, New Jersey and Freddie Hicks of West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Christine Howe-Louden and husband, Lloyd of Duncannon, Pennsylvania and Justin Hicks and wife Jennifer of West Plains, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Gray of Branson, Missouri, Lane Hicks of West Plains, Missouri and Matthew Louden of Duncannon, Pennsylvania; two nephews, Matthew Hicks and Dewayne Moody and one sister in-law Lena Doris Maupin.
Her parents, husband, Cecil Hicks, brother Leland Moody, granddaughter Corine Howe and nephew Melburn Moody preceded her in death.
