Mr. Harry Eugene Bever, 86, of Noel, Mo., was called to heaven Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at his home following a sudden illness.

Harry was born Jan. 10, 1924, at Nuyakka, Okla., to Ernest and Floy Bever. He lived most of his life in noel, Mo. He married the love of his life, Marjorie Gardner, on May 2, 1950, at Pineville, Mo., and to this union a daughter was born. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #392 in Pineville, Mo. He worked as a machinist at Vickers in Joplin, Mo., for 28 years. Harry was a cattle farmer and enjoyed turkey hunting. Harry cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He was a dedicated member of the Pineville Christian Church, where he took pride in helping with building projects, to include a pulpit that is used for Sunday School. He will be deeply missed bu all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ernestine Jolly.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marjorie Ruth Bever of the home; a daughter, Doris Smith and husband, Galeon, of noel, Mo.; two granddaughters, Tammy Marie Moorehouse and husband Scott, of Neosho, Mo., and Terisa Ann Vigil and husband, Donnie, of Denver, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, Derek Andrew White, Matthew Kent Moorehouse, Heather Marie Moorehouse, Bethany Anne Moorehouse, Jenna Renee Vigil and Joshua Kipp Vigil; a great-great-grandson, Brayden Joe Charon; along with a host of other relatives, friendes and neighbors.

Funeral services for Harry Bever was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, Mo. The Rev. Gary Graham officiated. Burial followed the service at the Brush Creek Cemetery in Noel. Mo. Full Military Honors was conducted by the Pineville/Jame American Legion Post #392.

Visitation was from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, Mo. The family received friends at that time.

Memorial contributions may be given in loving memory of Harry to the Brush Creek Cemetery in Noel, Mo., in care of the funeral home.

Marjorie Ruth Bever, 92, of Anderson, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at McDonald County Living Center in Anderson.

She was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Pineville, Mo., daughter of Charlie and Hazel Mae (Watson) Gardner. She was a lifelong area resident. On May 2, 1950, she married Harry Bever. She worked at the Anderson Telephone Company as a phone operator before her daughter's birth. She enjoyed feeding the birds, crocheting, gardening and canning. She was a member of the Pineville Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Harry Bever (Dec. 16, 2020); and two brothers, Wesley Eugene and Loren Dale Gardner.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris Smith (Galeon) of Noel; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at Brush Creek Cemetery near Jane, Mo., with Pastor Galeon Smith officiating.
