Charles Allen Elkins, age 51, of Joplin Mo., passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home following an extended illness.

Allen was born July 9, 1968 in Kansas City, Mo. He was the son of Charles Don Elkins and the late Toni Leann Utter Elkins, who preceded him in death on February 8, 1999.

Allen was a 1986 graduate of Diamond High School. He attended Harding University and Missouri Southern State University where he attained a degree in psychology. He attended church at Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ. Charles had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. He cared deeply about his family, loving his nieces and nephews as his own. His loving personality will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include his father, Don Elkins, and wife, Melba, of Neosho; his brother, Troy Elkins, and fiancé, Ronni Crain, and daughter Emma, of Joplin; his sister, Victoria Thomas, of Neosho; nephew Liam Elkins, of Diamond; niece, Tia Epley Elkins, and husband, David Epley, son Sebastian and daughter Anastasia of Diamond; nephews Nicolas Thomas, Daniel Thomas, Nathaniel Thomas, and Micaiah Thomas all of Neosho and David Thomas, and his wife, Dorothy, of Joplin; nieces Miriam and Mary Ruth Thomas of Neosho; 5 step-brothers; Doug Wilson of Neosho, Gary Wilson of Joplin, Andy Wilson of Joplin, Ray Wilson of Brookline, Denny Wilson of Neosho, and many friends.

The family will be holding a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ in Neosho, Mo. The family will receive friends following the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
