Obituary:

TROYER.--Gideon Troyer was born in Holmes Co., Ohio, June 10, 1837, and died near Joplin, Kans. (sic-should be Missouri), Dec. 5, 1899, of heart disease. He was married to Barbara Shireman in 1868. This union was blessed with 13 children, 2 of whom preceded the father in death. He was converted in 1867, and was a member of the Ev. Association ever since, lovyal and true. He served the Church many years as class leader and Sunday-school superintendent. He possessed more than ordinary talents. As an exhorter he was intensely earnest and forceful. As a follower of Christ he endeavored to live the abundant Christian life. A tender, loving husband and father has been removed from his family. A faithful servant has gone to his reward. On account of his affliction and great distance he lived from our church, he met with us in the sanctuary only once during the year. We hope the children will make his God their God, and his Savior their Savior.
