PINEVILLE, Mo. — Marlene Kay Mustain, 65, of Pineville, died Jan. 20, 2007, in Highfill. She was born on May 6, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Arthur Charles and Gladys Amelia Peck Sigler.

Her family moved to McDonald County when she was just three years of age. She married James Mustain on July 3, 1957. Together they owned and operated farms in McDonald County for 49 years. She was also employed by Tyson Foods as a lab technician for more than 20 years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed cooking and reading and studying the Bible, and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jane, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mustain, in 1996.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Barnes and husband Larry of Highfill; one son, Mike Mustain of Pineville; her brothers and sisters, Donna Daniel of Titusville, Fla., Charles Sigler of Wentzville, Mo., Caroline Mann of Rogers, Marilyn Smythia of Anderson, Mo., Glenda Perryman of Las Vegas, Sharon Harmon of Neosho, Mo., Leonard "Butch" Sigler of Bella Vista; her half brothers and sisters, Leonard Sigler, Edith Kobes, Lorraine Vanderlinden, Ruth Kobes, all of Sioux City, Iowa, Betty Anderson of Ogden, Utah and Ronald D. Peck of Springdale; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jane, Mo. The Rev. Jim Haffecke and the Rev. Scott Leonard will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in Stella, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice in care of the funeral home.
