LOWELL — Mary Margaret Brown, 85, of Lowell died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, in Bentonville. She was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Floyd J. and Alpha Woodfill Stanberry.
She married Cecil Brown on March 19, 1938. She cooked for many years in the San Jose, Calif., school system and was a homemaker.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Brown; her son, Ivan Brown and three sisters, Connie Wood, Helen Tull and Noretta Stanberry.
She is survived by her son, Del Brown of Rogers; one granddaughter, Jana Stober of Overland Park, Kan.; one grandson, Alan Wheelock of Azle, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Nina Stober of Overland Park and six brothers, John Stanberry of Joplin, Mo., Tom Stanberry of Stockton, Calif., and Elmer, Everett, Norman and Jack Stanberry, all of Orland, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 3 at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., downtown Rogers.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Mayfield Cemetery in Goodman, Mo. Online condolences may be made at www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
