Elaine Edwards, 86, a resident of Willow Springs, MO passed away at Willow Care Nursing Home at 1:07 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born May 26, 1937, at home in Hartsfield, Georgia to John and Lula (Joiner) Richardson.
Elaine attended Moultrie High School in Moultrie, Georgia. She was a member of the Willow Springs Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Before moving to Willow Springs to be with her daughter, Pam Wiles, Elaine owned and operated Elaine's Trucking in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Elaine always met you with a hug. She loved being with friends and family. Cooking and gardening were her favorite hobbies. She was always looking for a new recipe or flower to grow in her flower gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Wiles and her husband, Truman of Willow Springs, Missouri and Melodie Reagan and life-partner, Dave Sluiter of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren, Phoebe Wiles (Jason Huffman) of Willow Springs, Missouri and Bryce Slavik (Kaitlin Dunn) of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Katrina Sinyard (Chip Borstein) of Jacksonville, Florida; and 14 nieces and nephews. She dearly loved her niece, Stephaine Sinyard Priede.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her younger daughter, April Edwards, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Burial will take place at the Willow Springs City Cemetery in a private graveside ceremony at a later date.
April Nagel Edwards passed on Thursday, November 14, 2002 at 10:05 AM. Age 32 years. Beloved daughter of Elaine R. Edwards of Chalmette, LA and Arnold Edwards of California. Sister of Pamela Wiles of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Melodie Slavick of Superior, Colorado. Sister-in-law of Frank Slavick and Truman Wiles. Half sister of Suzette Teague of Fort Worth, Texas. Also survived by 1 niece, Phoebe Wiles and 2 nephews, Bryce and Aaron Slavick. A native of Kirkwood, Missouri and a resident of Chalmette for 20 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at VICKERS, VERRETTE & DORNAN FUNERAL HOME, 3027 Jean Lafitte Parkway, Chalmette on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private. Visitation from 11:30 AM until service time on Saturday.
