He had spent his entire life in this area and on March 28, 1947, was married at West Plains MO to Mable Lucille Roper. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Infantry during that conflict.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Cunningham and one brother John Cunningham.

Mable Lucille Cunningham was born on November 23, 1929. She departed this life on January 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs Missouri, at the age of 94.
Lucille was united in marriage to Lloyd J Cunningham on March 27, 1947, and to this union 5 children were born.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; daughter, Janet Robinson and husband Junior; and son, Hank Cunningham.
Her Hobbies were cooking, gardening, taking walks, looking at flowers, and watching the birds. She was a firm believer in getting in your exercise. She was of the Pentecostal faith and loved reading her bible. She was a prayer warrior, believed in praying over everything, especially her children, and at least 10% of all firstfruits belonged to God. She was firm in her faith no matter what in life came at her, even until her last breath, she never wavered.
Lucille was a hard worker and she raised her family working on their dairy farm, milking cows, canning, and cooking. She was of old-fashioned beliefs and worked hard 365 days a year, every year to care for her loved ones. She worked many years at Conway Winters, Willow Care Nursing Home, and then volunteered for many years at Munch in Willow Springs.
She had a compassion and tenderness that she led her family with. You always knew where you stood with her. She was a spunky, joyful, oh so loving but oh so onery soul! She loved to laugh and to make others laugh. There was never a family get-together that there wasn't laughter filling up her home. She had a survivor spirit that will live on through her family and the memories she leaves with them.
Her favorite saying when you would leave her home was "Don't let the bedbugs bite" or "Have a set down, "sit on your fist and rare back on your thumb" was the Grandkids favorite! You never left her without knowing how much she loved you.
She will be sadly missed.
A Visitation will be held from 1-3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Yarber Mortuary in Willow Springs, Missouri. Interment will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery in Pomona, Missouri.
