Charles W. Cochran’s great great granddaughter sent the following information on Charles.
He was born 1855 in Bright Hope, Greene, TN & traveled with the Ferguson wagon train, their cousins, headed for West Plains & Willow Springs in 1871.
His second marriage was to Zilpha Davis (1860-1882) on 28 Sep 1881 in Willow Springs, Howell, MO. They had a daughter, Zilpha I., born 1882 & died 1883.
Charles parents were Robert D. Cochran (1821-1863) & Mary (Hogan) Cochran (1825-1890).
Siblings were Emmanuel Clark, Sarah Elizabeth, Emaline, James H., Susan, & Robert J. Cochran.
familysearch.org: When Charles W. Cochran was born about 1855, in Bright Hope, Greene, Tennessee, United States, his father, Robert D Cochran, was 35 and his mother, Mary Hogan, was 31. He married Hannah B. Ingram on 1 March 1877, in Howell, Missouri, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He immigrated to Greene, Missouri, United States in 1871 and lived in Willow Springs Township, Howell, Missouri, United States in 1880.
mogenweb.org: In a caravan of wagons, horse drawn and drawn by oxen, the Ferguson family came to the location of the present city of Willow Springs. In the party were 3 known unmarried males & Charles W. Cochran was listed as age 16.
findagrave.com: Wife Zilpha & dau. Are buried in Harris Cemetery, Willow Springs, Howell, MO. It is believed Charles is also buried in this cemetery.
