AURORA - Charles A. Sloan, 88, longtime Southwest Missouri Educator, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 1996, in Mercy Villa, Springfield, Mo. He was born Feb. 4, 1908, in Stone County, Mo., the son of John and Martha Sloan. He graduated from Marionville High School, Southwest Missouri State Teacher's College, and received advanced degrees from the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was a former
Superintendent of Schools Hartville, Mo., Sarcoxie, Mo., and Mount Vernon, Mo. He retired from education as an Elementary Supervisor in the North Kansas City School District. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sheila Sloan; go Sloan, grandson, both of Charles Springfield, Greg Mo.; two sisters, Elaine Kissee, Marionville, Mo., and Catherine Estes, Purdy, Mo.; two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his a wife, Jewell, and his son,
Maynard. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1996, in Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. Burial will be in Monett 1.0.0.F. Cemetery. The casket will be closed at all times...
