Died, at her home near Waddill, October 7th. 1893, Frankie, the beloved wife of J. R. Steadman, aftor an illness of only a few hours. Deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Bowers. She was born in Madison county, Arkansas, September 1st, 1872, and came with her parents to Missouri when quite young. She united with the Christian church in November 1889 at the age of seventeen and lived a consistant christian life. On January 1, 1898, she was united in marriage with J. R. Steadman and left the home of her parents to assist in making for themselves a home which seemed to prove so transient. Her married life was brief but happy. Her kind loving disposition won for her a large circle of friends and it is seldom we are called to record the death of one more universally loved. She died leaving an infant daughter. Her remains were interred in the Hazel Green cemetery in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, who deeply mourn the loss of one so dear, but friends
Why weep we o'er the casket
Out of which the pearl has gone
When the treasure hid within it
Has to heavenly mansions flown.
She's gone the way of all the earth,
The we all must go.
And soon or late at His good will,
Our heads must lie an low.
For death alone can lift the veil
And cast aside the curtain dim
From of the shining path that leads
To perfect light and love in Him.
We've farewell to Frankie here
And laid her down to her last sleep
"Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep,
From which none ever wake to weep." ...
