Currie Shelton Allbritton died June 11, 1982 at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville.

One of Steele's best known citizens, C.S. "Slim" Allbritton, was a retired grocery merchant and landowner. He came to Steele at the age of 17 and worked in a grocery store for M.B. Courtney for about five years. Later, he went into business for himself, having stores at Cooter, Denton, Akins Corner, and in Steele. Mr. Allbritton retired in 1972 after 48 years in business.

He was born in Richton, Miss., December 12, 1905. In 1925 he married Vivian Davis, and they had two sons, Thomas and Lloyd. Lloyd preceded him in death December 13, 1980.

Services wre conducted by Mason Harris and Steve Murrell Sunday June 13, 1982 at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Steele where he was a member.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home at 122 East Main.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Vivian Davis Allbritton of the home on North Walnut Street; a son, Thomas Allbritton of Steele; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Eva Heard of San Clemente, California, and three brothers, Melton Allbritton of Ellisville, Mississippi, Kernice Allbritton of Waynesboro, Mississippi and Floyd Allbritton of Richton, Mississippi.

Pallbearers were Gene Ladd, John H. Smith, Chester Barnes, Hobert Poteet, David Whitfield, and F. M. Miller

Vivian Margaret Davis Allbritton, 84, died Tuesday, February 6, 1990, at her home in Steele, Mo. Daughter of the late Thomas A. and Dora Riggs Davis, she was born January 27, 1906 at Lexington, Tenn.

A member of the Church of Christ, she was a practical nurse and a volunteer for senior citizens.

On October 18, 1925 she was married to Currie Shelton Allbritton at Steele. He preceded her in death June 11, 1982. One son, Lloyd Allbritton, also preceded her in death.

She leaves one son, Tom Allbritton, of Steele; one daughter-in-law, Naomi Allbritton, of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Mark Raulerson conducted funeral services at the Church of Christ on Friday, February 9, 1990, at 2:00 p.m.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.

Pallbearers were David Whitfield, Buck Whitfield, Hobart Poteet, Paul Fullerton, Chester Barnes, and Merlon Bishop
