George Warren Walls, 83, son of Tom and Janie Walls, was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Texas County. He died Jan. 16, 2004, at the Kabul Nursing Home at Cabool.
He married Edna Smith June 4, 1941. They had three sons.
The Walls family lived on a farm in the Mount Pisgah community before moving to Cabool in 1977.
Mr. Walls enjoyed playing his guitar and singing for his church, family and friends.
He had been a member of the Mount Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church since 1933.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years; his parents; sisters, Gillie Reeves, Nina Coatney Hawkins, Zella Sullivan, Katie Means, Letha Walls and Golda Walls.
Surviving are his sons, Dennis of Cabool, Roy Dean of Richardson, Texas, and Gary of Florissant; two brothers, Lloyd Walls of Cabool and Floyd Walls of Mountain Grove; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 19 at the Mount Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. David Carroll and the Rev. Danny Douglas officiating. Burial was in the Mount Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool.
Edna F. Walls, 81, daughter of Lance B. and Florence Smith, was born July 2, 1922, at Memphis, Tenn. She died Jan. 1, 2004, at the Kabul Nursing Home.
She married Warren Walls June 4, 1941. They had three sons and lived on a farm in the Mount Pisgah community before moving to Cabool in 1977.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and helping others.
She had been a member of the Mount Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church since 1941. She was an active member of the Mount Pisgah Ladies Aid as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years; her sons, Dennis of Cabool, Roy Dean of Richardson, Texas, and Gary of Florissant; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 3 at the Mount Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Douglas officiating. Burial was in the Mount Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool.
