William David Grogan, 68, was born June 20, 1931, at Tyrone. He died Feb. 11, 2000, at Willow Springs. Mr. Grogan married Myrtle Ioline Clouse May 14, 1952, at Little Rock, Ark. He served from 1952 to 1954 in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked at Brown Shoe Co. until his retirement in 1963. He loved collecting Indian artifacts and playing his fiddle at church on Sunday mornings and for numerous benefits around the community. He served on the board of Abundant Life Church in Mountain Grove, where he had been a member more than four years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister. Surviving are his wife; two sons, David and Nevel of Willow Springs; one daughter, Judy of West Plains; one brother, Noble of Willow Springs; one sister, Ellen of Willow Springs; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were Feb. 14 at the Cabool Assembly of God with the Rev. Darrel Loughridge, the Rev. Kathy Curran and the Rev. Jo Beth Hurd officiating. Burial was in the Near Home Cemetery near Tyrone under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool. [Houston Herald 02/17/2000, per findagrave.com member ##48136927]
