Katie Irene Means, 94, daughter of James Thomas and Janie Brown Walls, was born Oct. 17, 1907, in Texas County. She died April 4, 2002, at Willow Springs.
She married Otho D. Means June 4, 1933. They had six children.
Mrs. Means was a member of the Faith and Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Gillie, Nina, Zella, Goldie and Letha; her husband; two sons, Darrell and Bobby; and two grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons, Leonard Means of Newport News, Va., Jack Means of Willow Springs and Tom Means of Macon; one daughter, Sharon Collins of Willow Springs; three brothers, Lloyd and Warren Walls of Cabool and Floyd Walls of Mountain Grove; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services were April 8 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. Max Courtney officiating. Burial was in the Freedom Cemetery east of Cabool.
