Charlie E. Griffin, active farmer of Steele, died of a heart ailment Monday night at 10:20 p.m. in his home on Route 3. That day Mr. Griffin had gone to the field as usual and worked.
Born April 20, 1886, Mr. Griffin died at the age of 69 years and 2 months, having spent 43 years in this community. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral Services were conducted Thursday, June 23 at 2:30 in German Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gene Shultz officiating.
Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille Griffin; two sons, William E. of Blytheville and Ralph of Steele; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys ? of Doniphan, Mo. and Mrs. Viva Grisson of Mesa, Ariz.; and 19 grandchidren.

Funeral service for Mrs. Lucille Griffin, was held May 4, 1980 at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Mr. Walter Lumpkin officiated.

Mrs. Griffin was born July 24, 1891, in Lawrence County, Ill., and died May 1, 1980 at a hospital in Doniphan, Mo. at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late William Sifert and Sarah Adams Sifert.

She was united in marriage to C. E. Griffin March 17, 1909 at Grand Tower, Ill. Her husband and two sons, Ralph and Roy preceded her in death.

Mrs. Griffin leaves a son, William E. Griffin of Blytheville, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Viva Grissom of Mesa, Ariz. and Mrs. Gladys Lingar of Doniphan, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Clifford Griffin, Earl Griffin, Denzil Griffin, Wayne Griffin, Terry Boyd and John Lewhon.

Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
