Mrs. Quay R. Griffin, 69, died June 25, 1991 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville. Born May 10, 1922 in Mississippi, she was the daughter of Jim and Dollie Brooks Padgett. She was the widow of James Ralph Griffin and a member of Samford Church of Christ.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Glenda Johnson, Mrs. Iris Rogers, Mrs. Joyce Schaeffer and Mrs. Wanda Lovelace, all of Coloma, Mich., and Mrs. Gloria Rinehart of Steele; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Robins and Mrs. Ruby McFadden, both of Michigan; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were June 28 at 2 p.m. at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve and Stewart Worrell, William Biggs, Gene Samford, Rick Cooper and Greg Gillette.

Funeral services for James Ralph Griffin were held Thursday, November 11, 1976 at the John W. German Funeral Home. Mr. Griffin was a retired farmer and died suddenly at his home last Tuesday after an history of heart trouble. He was 60 years old at the time of his death. Mr. Griffin was the son of Mrs. Lucille Sifert Griffin and the late Charles E. Griffin, and was born in Steele in 1916.

Mr. Griffin was married at Caruthersville in October 1937 to Quay R. Padgett. He leaves his wife, Quay Griffin, of Steele; five daughters, Mrs. Glenda Johnson of Coloma, Mich.; Mrs. Wanda Lovelace of Coloma, Ms. Gloria Rinehart of Steele, Mrs. Iris Rogers of Coloma and Mrs. Joyce Schaeffer of Coloma; his mother, Mrs. Lucille Griffin of Steele; one brother, William E. Griffin of Blytheville; two sisters, Mrs. Viva Grissom of Mesa, Ariz., and Mrs. Gladys Lingar of Doniphan, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Griffin was a veteran of World War II.

Pallbearers were Jack Samford, F.H. Samford, William Biggs, Wayne Welch, Charles Ellis and
Eugene Gillette. Mr. Jim Franks officiated at the services with burial at Mount Zion Cemetery. John W. German Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
