Mr. Samuel Bynum Hester, 80, of rural Steele, Mo., died Sunday, January 15, 1995, at his home near Denton.
A son of the late Samuel Berry Hester and Sarah Bynum Wood Hester, he was born November 16, 1914 at Belgreen, Ala.
On November 16, 1939, at Blytheville, Ark., Bynum was united in marriage with Edna Wright, who preceded him in death June 24, 1992.
Three brothers: Nelson Hester, Hoyt Hester and Lewis Hester, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Hester McDaniel, also preceded him in death.
He was a retired farmer.
He leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Berry and Margie Hester, of Steele; One brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Dorothy Hester, of Steele; a grandson and his wife, Kevin and Ginger Hester, of Steele; one granddaughter, Leslie Hester, of Memphis, Tenn.; and two great-granddaughters: Abby and Jennifer.
Funeral services for Mr. Hester were held Tuesday, January 16, 1995, at the John W. German Funeral home in Steele, with Brother Billy Skinner officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home in charge.
Sam Hester, Jim Hester, Harold Bond, Fred Swindle, Dennis Wilson, and Brother Michael Funderburk were pallbearers.

Edna Evelyn "Sis" Hester, 76, of Steele, Mo., died Wednesday, June 24, 1992 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

She was a daughter of the late Elbert and Addie Foster Wright.

Two sisters and seven brothers also preceded her in death.

On November 16, 1936 at Blytheville, Ark., she was united in marriage with Bynum Hester.

A member of the First Baptist Church in Steele, she was a long time member of the New Survey Club, a wife, mother and a friend to all who knew her.

Mrs. Hester leaves her husband, Bynum Hester, of Steele; a son and daughter-in-law, Berry and Margie Hester of Steele; one brother, A.V. "Slug" Wright, of Reno, Nevada;
Two grandchildren: Kevin and wife Ginger Hester, of Steele, and Leslie Hester of Memphis; and two great-granddaughters: Jennifer and Abby.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 27, 1992, at the First Baptist Church in Steele with Rev. Billy Skinner and Rev. James F. McCrary officiating.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with arrangements by John W. German Funeral Home of Steele.

Pallbearers were Dennis Wilson, Harold Wilson, Jeffery Tyler, Donald Funderburk, Randall Swindle and Rondall Swindle.
