Clay C. Capps died Friday, November 17, 1967 in St. Joseph Hospital in Mempis.

He was born in Gibson, Tenn. on December 3, 1896 and had been a resident of Steele for the past 41 years, where he operated an Auto Parts Store.

Funeral services wre held Sunday, November 19, 1967 at the First Baptist Church. Rev. James F. McCrary officiated.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Austin Pfeffer, Clyan LaRue, Homer Alexander, J. C. Whatley, Pete Young and Olan Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, the former Reba Allison, one son, Gervis Capps, one granddaughter, Marla Delle Capps; one sister, Mrs. Pearl James, Jackson, Tenn.; and one brother, Oliver Capps, Kenton, Tenn.; and one half-brother, Gilbert Hester, Mansfield, Ohio.

Mrs. Reba Mae Capps, 96, of Steele, died Jan. 17, 1995 at Kennett Health Care Center. Born April 19, 1898 in Gibson County, Tenn., she was the daughter of William and Alba Ashley Alison. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Steele and Steele chapter 330 of Order of the Eastern Star where she served as past worthy matron.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gervis and Adel Capps of Steele: A granddaughter, Marla Roberts and husband, Ron, of Kennett: A great-grandson, Brandt Roberts of Kennett; Two nieces and four nephews.
She was the widow of Clay C. Capps and was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Services were Jan. 19 at John S. German Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
