Funeral services were held January 12 for Clent Hensley whose death occurred on January 10 when he suffered a heart attack while driving a tractor in his field. He was 60 years or more old and he leaves his wife, Bessie and five sons and two daughters. They are Bill Hensley, who lives in Florida; Roy, of the U.S. Army; Jim of Steele; and two smaller sons at home; also Dorothy and Lillian, the daughters of Steele. Three sisters survive, being Mrs. Dovey Piercey of California; Mrs. Nell Farris of Steele and Mrs. Ed Wheeler of Blytheville. Numerous other relatives and a host of friends also survive. Interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery near Steele, with the German Funeral Home in charge.

Bessie Vienne Hensley, 93, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, March 12, 2001 at her home.
Born Friday, May 31, 1907 in Mississippi County, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James Edward Southard and Martha Bell Thompson Southard. She was also preceded in death by four sons: Jim Hensley, Bill Hensley, Roy Hensley, and Loyad Hensley; three sisters; and one brother.
She was a homemaker and of the church of Christ faith.
Bessie was united in marriage to Clinton Hensley on March 16, 1923. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1952.
Mrs. Hensley leaves one son, Wayne Hensley and his wife Sue of Potosi, Mo.;
Two daughters: Dorothy Brindley and Lillian Jones and her husband Johnny of Chicago, Ill.; and twenty-seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hensley were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2001 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Mr. Charles Abernathy officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Jim Hensley, Jr., Tommy Hensley, Chris Hensley, Gerald Hensley, Roy Lynn Hensley, and Roger Hensley.
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Fullerton, Everett Wiler, Steve Butler, Gary Neal Hensley, and Mike Hensley.
