Eugene Everett Hale, 70 of Cabool, MO passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 near Eunice, MO. He was born on April 4, 1940 near Cabool, MO the son of Earl and Ruth (Colburn) Hale. Gene was raised and lived in the Cabool area all of his life. In 1960, Gene was united in marriage to Donna Faye Grogan and to this union two sons were born, William (Wink) and Steven Hale. Steven passed away as an infant and Donna passed away in 1994. In 1996, Gene was united in marriage to Lavaughn Brown Collins; they had been married for 14 years at the time of his passing. Gene "Redbone” was a truck driver all of his life, he spent a lot of time talking on his CB and he knew every truckers CB handle! Lavaughn spent many hours on the road with Gene in the truck. Besides trucking, Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah FWB Church where he was saved on Feb. 12, 2006. Gene is survived by his wife, Lavaughn of the home; his brother, Jimmie Hale of Cabool; his son, Wink Hale and wife, Elizabeth; stepsons, Rick Martindale and Jeff Sigman and wife, Kristy; grandchildren, Scott Martindale, Stephanie Martindale, Amber Hale Wilson, April Hale, Josh, Jacob and Justin Sigman, and Samantha Music, Shelby Music and Jesse Hale; five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and close friends. Gene never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
