Helen Frances Mitchell, 91, West Plains, MO, died Jan. 29, 2008, at Ozarks Medical Center. She was born Nov. 6, 1916 in Willow Springs, MO, to Ben H. and Docia Cleo Hight Fair.
She graduated from Willow Springs High School, and on May 30, 1936 was married at West Plains, MO, to Wayne Alfred Mitchell, who preceded her in death March 21, 2000.
Mrs. Mitchell had worked at Milstead's Dress Shop and before her retirement was employed with the Missouri Division of Employment Security.
She and Wayne loved square dancing, bowling and traveling. She was a great cook and seamstress and enjoyed growing flowers. Of all her activities, her family and grandchildren were what she enjoyed the most.
Mrs. Mitchell was an active member of the First Christian Church, West Plains, for many years.
She is survived by two children, Dale Mitchell, and wife, Thelma, West Plains, MO; and Linda Duggan, and husband, Mike, Plano, TX; four grandchildren, Stacy Coiner, and husband, Jeff; Ken Duggan, and fiancee, Ann Mears; Marlon Duggan, and wife, Stacia; and Michelle Thomas, and husband, Chuck; seven great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jordan, Trevor, Cassidy, Mitchell, Ty and Misty; one brother, Chick Fair; one sister, Juanita "Tooter" Kirk; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; granddaughter, Denise; three brothers; and one sister preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Friday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Feb. 2, 2008 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
