FRED HULTGREN DIES AFTER LONG SICKNESS
Fredrick Hultgren who lived on Kings Prairie fifty years, died at his home at 8:40 O'clock Monday morning after an illness of eight months. Death was caused by cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at Kings Prairie Union Church at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Sherman Erickson will be the minister. Burial will be in Spring River cemetery near Verona. Callaway's Undertaking firm will be in charge.
Mr. Hultgren was born in Stockholm, Sweden, March 19,1847, a son of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Hultgren. As a young man he came to America and settled in Barry Co. after traveling a number of states.
Mr. Hultgren was twice married , his first wife having been dead twenty years. Of this marriage, three daughters survive. They are Mrs. John Peterson of Arnold Chapel, Mrs. C.A. Dummit of Springfield, and Mrs. Jennie Poyner of St. Louis. His second wife and their sons, Joe, Walter, Carl, Andrew and Fred, also survive.
In Sweden he was a member of the Luthern church. After coming to this country he joined the Methodist Church.

FUNERAL SERVICE HELD FOR KING'S PRAIRIE MAN
Funeral services for Fred Hultgren, who died at his home on King's Prairie early Monday morning were held at the King's Prairie Union church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Sherman Erickson, assisted by the Rev. Albion Erickson, conducted the service. They, with Mrs. Sherman Erickson furnished the music.
Burial was in the Spring River cemetery. Pall bearers were Frank Jackson, Joe Beymer, Ed Long, Marion Tate, Ira Jackson and Jake Carter. Callaway's undertaking company was in charge of the funeral.
Submitter Note: There are discrepancies from several sources, but other family members from both Sweden & England, through Fred's siblings, as well as some of Fred's children by both wives, all said or have documentation that he was born in Vastervik, not Stockholm as stated in one of the obituaries.

MRS. OLGA M. EGGEMAN
VERONA - Mrs. Olga M. Eggeman, 85, of Verona, died at St. Vincent's Hospital, in Monett, at 10:10 p.m. Saturday following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Eggeman had lived her entire life in the Verona community and was a member of the First Christian Church of Verona.
Survivors include five sons, Carl and Fred Hultgren, both of Monett, Walter Hultgren, of Detroit, Henry Hultgren, of Tulsa and Joe Hultgren, of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Griffith of Pittsburg, Kan.; Mrs. Agnes Pruitt and Mrs. Anna Henke, both of Neosho; seven step-children; 13 grand-children and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Buchanan Chapel, Monett, with the Rev. Winford Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Spring River Cemetery near Verona.
