Vera McArthur, 84, of Blytheville, formerly of Caruthersville, died Jan. 10, 1989 at Blytheville. Born Oct. 23, 1904 in Steele, she was the daughter of John and Maude Shelton McArthur. She was a retired teacher and had retired from the Department of Social Services at Caruthersville. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blytheville and PEO Chapter N. She was a graduate of Stephens College and attended University of Missouri and Southeast Missouri State University.
She is survived by three nephews, Ben Mac White of Blytheville, Johnny White of Memphis and John Skalbech of Sacramento, Calif.; And four nieces, Mrs. Peggy Carmean of Blytheville, Mrs. Anna Sidel of Modesto, Calif. and Mrs. Madelone Gallister and Wanda Burton, both of Memphis.
Graveside services are today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery, the Rev. Aaron Barling officiating. Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge.
