Funeral service was held Friday, August 19, for Mrs. Lela E. Hollenbeck, 81, who died August 17 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti. The Rev. Marvin Niblack of Caruthersville, assisted by the Rev. Maynard Weaver, officiated at the service held at First Baptist Church here.
Mrs. Hollenbeck was a member of the Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher until her health forced her to stop. She was also a member of Eastern Star for over 40 years.
For about 30 years, Mrs. Hollenbeck was a school teacher in the Wardell-Portageville area where she made her home before moving to Steele.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Imogene Frakes of Steele; two grandsons, James Wade Frakes of St. Louis and Stanley Wade Hollenbeck of Steele; and two granddaughters, Mrs. Jean Ann James of Wardell and Miss Susan Kay Hollenbeck of Steele.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Wade and Billy Hollenbeck.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with the John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
