Amos Henry Collins, 87, of Cooter, died Tuesday, August 11, 1992, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Son of the late Charles and Anna Michaelson Collins, he was born October 4, 1904 in Woodville Junction, Indiana.

One daughter, Betty Vitoux; one son, Bob Collins; three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Collins attended Holly Grove Baptist Church at Cooter and had been a welder in an auto factory.

On August 8, 1957 at Coloma, Michigan, he was united in marriage with Bertha Mae Forsythe.

Mr. Collins leaves his wife, Bertha Collins of Cooter; four sons: Leroy and Richard Collins, both of Chesterton, Ind., and Rodney and Eugene Collins, both of Valparaiso, Ind.; one daughter, Lillian Vitoux, of Chesterton; two sisters: Edna Cutler of Westville, Ind., and Willow Rinker of Logansport, Ind.; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Collins were held August 15, 1992 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Williams officiating.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele. Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Family members were the pallbearers.

Bertha Collins
Bertha Mae Forsythe Collins, 93, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, July 19, 2002, at the Pemiscot Memorial Nursing Home in Hayti.

Born May 14, 1909, in Grand Rivers, Tenn., daughter of the late John L. and Ruth Walker Forsythe, she was a homemaker and a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter, Mo. She married Amos Collins, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 22, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, Mo. with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
