Funeral services for Ruth Elizabeth Montgomery Redburn, 88, Springfield, Mo., and formerly of West Plains, will be 2 pm Sunday, May 6, 2007, at victory Family Worship Center under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Redburn died 8 pm Wed, May 2, 2007 in Greene Haven Skilled Care Center, Springfield. She was born Dec. 30, 1918, near West Plains, Mo. to Bert Cornelious and Irene Maye Fike Montgomery.
On July 20, 1935, she was married near West Plains to Fred Redburn, who preceded her in death March 4, 1973.
Mrs. Redburn had been employed at West Department Store, Richards Brothers and was a minister with Assembly of God Church. She had served as president of Women's Ministries, was a Sunday school teacher, held Bible studies and had pastored the Victory Chapel Church in Peace Valley, Mo. Mrs. Redburn had held revivals around the West Plains area and had taught Sunday school at West Vue Nursing Center and Pleasant Valley Manor for several years. She was a member of Victory Family Worship Center.
She is survived by five children: Floyd Redburn, Springfield, Mo, Joyce Smith, husband Gary, West Plains, Kathryn Ritchie, husband Don, Lebanon, Mo, Ray Redburn, Houston, Tx, and Barbara Goodwin, husband Mark, Franklin Springs, Ga; five grandchildren: Lynne Ritchie Reynolds, Scott Goodwin, Tim Goodwin, Spencer Redburn and Matthew Smith; two brothers: Hubert Montgomery, wife Veva, West Plains, and Carl Montgomery, wife Emmie, Aiken, SC; one sister, Mable Judd, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, five brothers, George, Claude, Everett, Herbert and Clyde Montgomery, and one sister, Ruby Earls, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Sat. at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Bible Society and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. [West Plains Daily Quill]
