Funeral services were held Sunday, February 5, 1978, at 2 p.m. in the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel for James Douglas Howell, 23, who died February 2, 1978, in Holiday, Fla. The Rev. Fred Pritchett conducted the service.

Mr. Howell was born December 22, 1954 in Hayti, and was the son of James and Barbara Barnard Howell of Granite City, Illinois.

He also leaves his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Barnard of Steele and Mrs. Dewey Howell of Marianna, Ark., one sister, Regina Howell of Granite City; and a great-grandfather, Walter Key of Steele.

Pallbearers were Carl Barnard, Clay Barnard, Junior Howell, Jadie Barnard, Alton Burke, and Michael Howell.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
