Myrna Faye (Todd) Darter, daughter of the late Ernest Elmer Todd and June Marie (Strain) Todd was born on January 31, 1941, in Houston, Missouri. She went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2015, at the age of 74.
Myrna, along with her siblings, Glenna and Kenneth, were raised in the Texas, Wright, and Greene county areas of Missouri. She attended Mtn. Grove School through the tenth grade then later obtained her GED.
She was united in marriage to Hubert Walter Darter on March 3, 1957 and to this union three children were born: Tod Anthony, Myrna Sue and Walter Leo. For twenty-three years, Myrna traveled around the world alongside her husband as he served in the Navy. During this time, they lived in 28 different homes from coast-to-coast and even internationally for five years in Italy. In 1979, the family made their final move and settled into a home just outside of Cabool.
Myrna came to know the Lord at an early age and served him faithfully during her lifetime. She also joined her husband in the ministry as they served the congregations of Clear Springs, Mt. Pisgah, Faith and Hope, and Ellis Prairie. For the past few years, she worshipped at Cabool Second Baptist Church.
She had several occupations over the years ranging from bank teller to accountant for the family trucking business. Her most cherished role though was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. When she had spare time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles. She would also sew or crochet hand-made items for family and friends.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Todd, Marie (Todd) Alsup and Leo Alsup; grandson, Dusty Joe Strong; brother, Kenneth Todd and a nephew, Jerry Todd. She is survived by her loving husband, Hubert Darter of the home; two sons, Tod Darter and wife, Kathy and Walter Darter and wife, Jodi; one daughter, Myrna Sue McClellan and husband, Bruce; one sister, Glenna Postlewait and husband, Gene; seven grandchildren, Robert Nesbit, Tangela Broos, Sarah Darter, Elizabeth (Libby) Wilson, Katrina Czybrinski, Emily Darter and Heather Vaughn; and seven great-grandchildren, Quinton, Atalee, Dusty, Emma, Mark, Julie and Jayden. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. [egcfuneralhome.com]

Hubert Walter Darter, son of the late Homer Walter and Edna Augusta Jackson Darter, was born on December 12, 1938. He went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2019, at the age of 80.
Hubert was raised in the Pea Ridge Community just outside of Cabool. He attended Cabool Schools and graduated with the class of 1956.
He was united in marriage to Myrna Faye Todd on March 3, 1957 and soon thereafter began his 23 year career in the US Navy. Hubert, along with his wife and their three children: Tod Anthony, Myrna Sue and Walter Leo, faithfully served our country in various duty stations throughout the world. At the end of his Naval career Hubert had attained the rank of E-9 Master Chief.
Upon retirement in 1979, Hubert and his family returned home to Cabool. The following year, he surrendered to God’s calling on his life and went on to lead the congregations of Clear Springs, Mt. Pisgah, Faith and Hope, and Ellis Prairie Churches. In addition Hubert established a very successful over the road trucking company. As God blessed Hubert’s business he was able to bless his family and friends.
Some of Hubert’s greatest joys were singing with the Countrymen Quartet, time outdoors, and most of all spending time with his family. Throughout his life he sought to extend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Hubert was preceded in death by his bride, Myrna Faye; his parents, Homer and Edna Darter, brothers, Harold Darter, George Darter, and Jerry Darter: and grandson Dusty Joe Strong.
