Funeral services for Cecil L. Earls of Blytheville were held Wednesday, January 24, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Steele.
Mr. Earls died January 22 in Caruthersville at the age of 57.
He had been engaged in the real estate business for over 27 years and had been a member of national, Arkansas and Blytheville real estate boards. He was a past president of the Blytheville Real Estate Board.
Mr. Earls had several business interests in Pemiscot County including Bernard Insurance Agency in Caruthersville and Steele and Hayti Builders Supply in Hayti.
He leaves his widow, Ms. Hazel Earls of Blytheville; one son, Jimmy W. Earls of Memphis; one daughter, Ms. Harry Leggett, Jr., of Little Rock; one brother, Cleadeth Earls of Kennett; and six grandchildren.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
Pallbvearers were A.B. Smith, Jr., Kniebert Stillman, Bill Collins, Bob McGraw, Bryce Lawson, George Green, Hal Fiser and Bob Long.

Mrs. Hazel Weaver Earls, 94, of Little Rock, widow of Cecil Lovern Earls, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010. Born in Steele, Mo., to Elijah Roy Weaver and Lelia Adelle McCollum Weaver, she was a member of West Main Church of Christ in Blytheville from 1949 to 1998.
In addition to her parents, also preceding her in death were her brother, Byron Weaver and Royal "Sonny" Weaver; a sister, Gaynelle Weaver Erwin; and grandsons Don Earls and David Leggett.
She leaves her son, Jimmy Earls and wife, Anne of Springfield, Mo.; Her daughter, Joan Leggett and husband, Harry, of Little Rock; Seven grandchildren, Jim Leggett (and Randi), Brad Leggett, Jeb Leggett (and Tracie), Leigh Anne Long, Jennifer Sanders, Tiffany Wimberly (and Jim) and Jonathan Earls (and Sonja); and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Her family will greet friends at the John W. German Funeral Home, 407 S. Walnut, Steele, Mo., from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
