Grace ("Granny") Kinney, 72, of Chillicothe died Saturday (February 10, 1990) at Hedrick Medical Center.
Born in Schuyler County on September 29, 1917, she was the daughter of Willie and Opal McNary Jackson. On June 22, 1935 in Kirksville, she married Virgil Kinney, who preceded her in death in 1976. Also preceding her in death were an infant daughter and one grandson.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, three sisters, Inez, Gladys, and Mary; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kinney was a homemaker and had been employed as a cook at the El Kadir Shrine Club and Elaine's Dining Room in Kirksville for several years. She had lived in Chillicothe for the past 14 years. She was a member of the Chillicothe United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning (February 13, 1990) at 10:30 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe with Dr. Earl Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville with graveside services conducted by the Rev. Burl Dean Cragg.
