Order of the Eastern Star
Chauncey B. Baker, 52, wife of E. Lee Baker, died yesterday evening at 6:10 o'clock at their home at 1001 S. Florence. She suffered from a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Kirksville conducted by the Rev. Fred P. Hanes, pastor of the Methodist Church here. Interment will be at the Maple Hills cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Davis Funeral Home, corner Washington and Marion streets, until the time of the funeral. The casket will not be opeend [sic] at the church.
Born in Knox County on May 7, 1896, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of Albert Samuel and Emma Pennel Harper. On December 9, 1921, she was married to E. Lee Baker at Hannibal. No children were born to them. They had lived in and near Edina most of their married life and for the past year have been living in Kirksville.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the Eastern Star lodge, the White Shrine, and the Methodist Church of Kirksville.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Emma Harper, Hannibal; two sisters, Miss Carrie Harper and Mrs. Rebecca Hubb, both of Hannibal; and a brother, Albert Harper, who lives in Wisconsin.
Bearer[s] for the funeral tomorrow will be Raleigh McKinney, Fred McCurry, Carl Roach, Ernest Schofield, C. E. Stockham, Bruce Hunt, Charles McKay, Leo Kennedy, Raymond Conner, I. D. Williams, J. M. Dewitt, and Chester Bagley.
Services at the cemetery will be under the auspices of the White Shrine.
