Perla Mae Russell, daughter of the late George S. and Perla M. (Newsom) Jordan, was born on December 8, 1928 in Pattison, Mississippi, and departed this life on July 12, 2015 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was 86 years, 7 months, and 4 days of age.
In her early years, Perla was raised in Pattison, Mississippi and later in Madison, Mississippi. She was united in marriage to Thomas A. Mason in 1946. Two sons were born to this union: Billy and Tommy. In 1983, Perla married John Russell at Norwood, Missouri.
Perla worked as a waitress for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and was considered a master at it. She also enjoyed her flower gardens, and spending time with her friends and family. Perla had a very good sense of humor and a bright personality. She greatly enjoyed the company of her pets.
Besides her parents, Perla was preceded in death by her husband, John; two brothers: Jack Jordan and G.S. Jordan; and two sisters: Hazel Shockey and Marilyn Ray.
She is survived by two sons: Billy Mason and his wife, Mary Ann, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Tom Mason and his wife, Susan, of Norwood, Missouri; four grandchildren: Chris Mason, David Mason, Bridget Dierks, and Elizabeth Agne; four great-grandchildren: Kyle Mason, Levi Mason, Thatcher Agne, and Wilson Dierks; and a host of other family and friends who will greatly miss her.
