Sherley Lovins, 79, of rural Steele, Mo., died Tuesday, August 29, 2000 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.
Born July 28, 1921 in Cooter, Mo., he was the son of the late Clyde and Dollie Coble Lovins. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Agard Lovins.
A veteran of World War II, he was a retired farmer and member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church at Cooter.
Sherley was united in marriage to Mavis Wingfield on June 5, 1943 in Rock Holland, N.C.
Mr. Lovins leaves his wife, Mavis Lovins, of Steele; Four brothers: Bob Lovins, Monroe Lovins and Owen Lovins of Jonesboro, Ark., and John Lovins of Paughkeepsie, Ark.; and Four sisters: Rachel Thracher of San Diego, Calif., Era Gamble and Sarah Nelms of Jonesboro, and Brenda Riley of Scott City, Mo.
Funeral services for Mr. Lovins were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2000 at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter with Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John w. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
