Funeral service was held Saturday, May 3, 1980 at the First Baptist Church in Steele for Mary Louise DeVaughn. Rev. James F. McCrary officiated.
Miss DeVaughn was born August 6, 1928 at Pontotoc, Miss., and died April 30, 1980 at the University of Missouri Medical Center at Columbia, Mo. at the age of 51. She was the daughter of Mrs. Modena Johnson DeVaughn and the late Edgar DeVaughn.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Steele and was an Assistant Manager of the Snow Queen in Blytheville.
Miss DeVaughn leaves her mother, Mrs. Modena DeVaughn, of Hayti.;
One brother, James E. DeVaughn of Steele; three nieces, Mrs. Kay Hicks of Cottonwood Point, Mo., Mrs. Sheila Gilder of Cleveland, Ohio, and Miss Tina DeVaughn of Steele; two nephews, David DeVaughn of Steele and Mark DeVaughn of Steele.
Pallbearers were Bill Lewis, J. W. Rinehart, John Alford, Jim Hester, J. C. Kinningham, and Phillip Koury.
Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery at Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
