Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church here Wednesday morning for Basil I. Edwards of Holland, who died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Mildren Erickson, at Lakeland, Fla., Sunday, May 4. The Rev. Jos. P. Huels conducted the service and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, with the German Undertaking Company service.
Mr. Edwards, a life long resident of the south part of this county, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Edwards of Steele; his daughter, Mrs. Erickson; a grandson, Bill Erickson Jr.; two brothers, Claud Edwards of St. Louis and Albert Edwards of Deering; and one sister, Mrs. Gideon Crews of Holland.

Grace R. Edwards, 96, a former resident of Holland, Mo., died Tuesday, February 26, 1991 in Miami, Fla., where she had made her home for the past 35 years.
She was the wife of Basil Edwards, who was preceded her in death in 1952.
Mrs. Edwards will be remembered by many Holland, Mo., residents as "Miss Grace", their teacher in elementary school.
She leaves her daughter, Mildred Edwards Erickson, a son-in-law, William C. Erickson, both of Miami, and a grandson, William C. Erickson, Jr., of Denver, Colo.
Born Grace Raidt in New Madrid, Mo., in 1894, she was joined in marriage with Basil Edwards of Holland in 1918. While Basil served in the U.S. Army during World War I, she taught school in Holland.
Mrs. Edwards was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele, Mo., where her remains will be placed beside her husband.
