Mrs. Effie Hall Forbus, born February 17, 1891 at Tupelo, Miss., died April 16, 1973 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital at Hayti. She was 82 years old.
The daughter of the late Isham and Martha Ellen Hall, she was the widow of H.M. Forbus. Her husband and two daughters preceeded her in death.
Mrs. Forbus leaves four daughters, Mrs. Portis Beene of Osceola, Mrs. J.H. Armstrong of Atoka, Tenn., Mrs. Sam Viar of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Hugh Green of Steele; two brothers, Jim Hall of Memphis and Theadore Hall of Osceola; five sisters, Mrs. Ressie Siddell of Tupelo, Mrs. Office Price of Balden, Miss., Mrs. Sarah Raper of Matthews, Mrs. Ella Brooks of Guntown, Miss., and Mrs. Hattie Reese of Osceola; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17, 1973, at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with the Rev. Armon Srum of Caldwell officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
