Howard Lee Spence of Willow Springs, Missouri was born April 27, 1930 to John Oscar and Emma Adelia (Kentch) Spence in Howell County, Missouri. He died on June 13, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 86.
After graduating from Willow Springs High School in 1948, Howard honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed by Sheffeld Steel in Kansas City, then became a driver for Pepsi Cola, and eventually retired from MoDOT.
Howard was baptized on May 1, 1949.
He had numerous pastimes, including hunting pheasant, golfing, fishing, and bowling. Howard was a member of Willow Springs Lions Club and served as board member of Public Water Supply District #3 until his death.
His parents, John and Emma Spence, precede him in death.
Surviving are his five siblings, Delbert Spence of Springfield, MO, Glen Spence and wife, Margaret, of Evansville, IN, Freda Brassfield and husband, Leon, of West Plains, MO, Linda Holland and husband, Robert, of Ava, MO, and Larry Spence and wife, Linda, of Willow Springs, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 8-9:15 a.m. Wednesday at Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Pomona, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Willow Springs Scholarship Club.
