OBITUARY:
"Funeral services for Effie Bertana Pinkston, 80, of Brashear will be held at three o'clock this afternoon Sunday April 9, 1989 in Hudson-Rimer Park View Chapel, Kirksville. The Rev. Jack Shahan will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Garden of the Cross, Park View Memorial Gardens, Kirksville.
Mrs. Pinkston died at 1:54 Wednesday morning April 5, 1908 in Grim-Smith Hospital.
Born May 25, 1908 at Peoria, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lynn Jason and Ethel Bliss Burdick. On March 10, 1931 at Peoria, Illinois she was married to Paul Clifford Pinkston who preceded her in death on August 29, 1983. Also preceding her in death were one brother Leslie Burdick and an infant sister.
Surviving are two sons, Clifford Paul Pinkston of Brashear and Charles Lynn Pinksont of Pinceville, Illinois; one daughter, Betty Roberts of Bryant, Illinois; two brothers, Ralph Burdick of Park Hill Oklahoma and Albert Burdick of Butler, Indiana; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pinkston was reared in Peoria, Illinois where she received her education. Following her marriage, she and her husband were engaged in farming in the state of Illinois before moving to the Brashear community in 1968.
Bearers will be Lonnie Osborn, Sidney Osborn, Lonnie Salter, Bob Strickler, David Stutsman and Billie Joe Hettinger.
Honorary bearers will be Bruce Pinkston and Paul Allen."
