Charles Wayne McCaig was born October 19, 1948, at Frog Jump, Tenn. and died November 1, 1985 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti. He was 37. Mr. McCaig was employed at Yarbro Gin until ill health caused his retirement.
He was the son of Mrs. Dorothy Day and the late James Oliver McCaig. On May 12, 1983, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Brent at Steele. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Hayti.
Mr. McCaig leaves the following: His wife, Mrs. Kathryn McCaig of Hayti; Three sons, Ray Charles McCaig of Hayti, Jerry Wayne McCaig of Arbyrd and Walter T. McCaig of Hayti; Two daughters, Linda Darlene McCaig of Arbyrd and Michelle Mageldene McCaig of Blytheville; A step-daughter, Melanie Roxanne Brent of Hayti; His mother, Mrs. Dorothy Day of Caruthersville; Two brothers, James B. McCaig and William E. McCaig, both of Wauchula, Fla.; and Four sisters, Mrs. Betty J. Weaver of Caruthersville, Mrs. Dorothy Pearl Medlock of Paris, Tenn., Mrs. Patsy Rose Celland of Danville, Ark. and Mrs. Peggy Ann Morrow of Hayti.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 4, 2 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Charles Darnell officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
